Australasia's Biggest Franchise Event Ever Melbourne was the scene of the biggest franchising event ever held in Australasia. It began with the Asia Pacific Confederation meeting, followed by two days of meetings and a symposium for the World Franchise Council, based in Brussels. Miles Agmen-Smith was the New Zealand representative at both of these international meetings and at some of the events which followed including the Franchise Council of Australia National Convention and Exhibition. A major aim of both the two international organisations, and also the FCA as the Australian national organisation, is the sharing of information and inclusiveness. A special feature of such events and organisations is the openness with which members share best practice and ideas towards helping success for all members. Another feature is the extent of the international networking and the ability to develop close contacts with people in other countries able to help and assist New Zealanders export their franchises and other businesses offshore, and to bring their systems to New Zealand. From involvement in these and many other events and activities we are both better informed as to successful practices and better able to put our clients in touch with relevant people and organisations able to provide assistance to them in their endeavours both in New Zealand and in many other countries around the world.
